Trending: Black Leather Leggings

I  am not one that does trendy very often but I do like to have fun.   I feel leather leggings definitely fall into the trendy category but I really love them so I decided to get a pair.   Rather than go splurge on something I know will likely not be in style for many years, I decided to get the next best thing….leggings that look like leather but are much more affordable.   I found the perfect pair at none other than Forever 21 on accident while in San Francisco.   Zara has them but they are way too short for us taller gals.   They are matte in color and a really thick material and fit me perfectly!  Score for fit and score for super affordable pricing!

My Favorite Pumpkin Latte Recipe

I’m not a huge coffee drinker but I love the taste of pumpkin lattes. Last year for Christmas, we purchased a Nespresso and I have been whipping up homemade lattes all Fall that taste amazing. I am slightly addicted!

Pumpkin Latte

This is a great drink to have morning, noon, or night and it is healthy!

For one serving:

3 shots of espresso OR 16 ounces of brewed coffee
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk or coconut milk
1/3 cup pure pumpkin puree
2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 packets of Truvia or stevia
Sprinkle of Cinnamon on top for garnish

Preparation:

Combine pumpkin puree with milk on medium heat for approximately 30 seconds. Remove from heat and add to a blender and add vanilla, sweetener and pumpkin spice to the mixture and blend until frothy. Pour the mixture into the cup followed by pouring the coffee in the cup. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon!

Planning for San Francisco

I might have mentioned this before but I’m about as last minute about packing as you can get.   It is simply one of those tasks that I do not enjoy at all so I put it off.   I have to pack for the girls so they can go stay with Nana and Papa and by the time I’m done packing for them, I’m pretty much over the packing thing so I try to pack as simple as possible for myself.   However, it is a little more difficult to do when you know you will need an outfit for the day, an outfit for nice dinner, spa attire, several different coats, boots, flats, heels, OH MY!   This is a short trip and I still feel like I’m going to need a big suitcase.   I’m on a quest to pack as little as possible and still look stylish.    I’ll let you know how that goes. :)

While looking for cute, simple warm outfit ideas to inspire me, I came across this outfit and realized I have everything she is wearing.   I love it when that happens!  The bad news is that all the layers in this look mean there are more things to pack.

Anthropologie Wool Dotside Blazer:  Here, $98  (*It has the cutest elbow patches and is super soft.)

J. Crew Black Sweater:  Here, $79   (They are having a 30% off Fall Sale right now so it is currently $46.)

Light Blue Button Down:  Here, $29

Off White Jeans:  Here, $19   (I personally feel the Sweetheart cut that I have in off-white is just as flattering on me as the J. Crew Matchstick Jeans which I have in white.  The main difference is that I’m 5’9 and Old Navy jeans always run a little short on me so I either have to cuff them which happens to be in style right now or where them with boots.)

introducing the everyday instyle girl…

I’m so happy to put this girl as the face of my brand.   She encompasses everything that I want Everyday Instyle to represent…..effortless classic style.   This brand is meant to bring inspiration to others but one thing I didn’t expect is how much inspiration I get myself from putting each post together and how it really has changed the way I look at my closet and styling.   We all evolve over time and I love the journey!
